Take a look around...

Students have library once a week.   Their schedule can be found on the link “library schedule”.   Kindergarten and 1st grade students take home one book a week and grades two through four take home two books.

Due dates/Overdues:  Library books are due the day before your child’s scheduled library day, except in the case of absence.  This is in order to have time to shelve books and determine who can take out books.  Any student not returning a book on time except in the case of illness may not take another book out.

Renewals:  Students may renew a book by returning it the day it is due with a note on it – renew and their name.  I would like every student to have the opportunity to finish and enjoy the books they take out.

Events:  Our library will celebrate National Library Week in April and Read Across America in March.  Created as a one day event to celebrate reading on Dr. Seuss’ birthday, March 2, NEA’s Read Across America has grown into a nationwide initiative that promotes reading every day.  Our Library also celebrates Right to Read Week, scheduled in the month of May to support the week long promotion of literacy in our school.

Volunteers:  A special thank you to our volunteers who help keep our library going.  Parent volunteers stamp books, read to our students, shelve books and offer a variety of help.  Your help is greatly appreciated.
